The above statement is indicative of Acme’s commitment to quality. Quality in our service, quality in our product, quality in everything we do. The most important part of our business is understanding each individual customer’s requirement of quality and ensuring that this quality level is supplied to them – consistently. This is why we call our Quality Assurance cell as the Backbone of our business and have focused on developing this cell. Acme’s quality assurance cell is headquartered at Ahmedabad and we have quality assurance offices in South / Central & North India (as shown in the picture ) .All offices have technically qualified and highly experience people who understand the product , process and international quality requirements . Our Quality Assurance cell is developed and based on the below premise:

Methodology

Acme works on its indigenously developed 3M Formula whilst evaluating factory:

»	Raw Material

	Analyse raw material being used along with its characteristics to know whether it is the most suitable for the end product being manufactured Having a complete knowledge / database of raw materials available with different origins to guide factories / customers on which is the most suitable and required alternative

»	Machinery

	Knowledge about different machineries available along with their advantages / disadvantages as well as make. To also understand country specific machinery required Based on this knowledge to visit each factory and understand their machinery setup along with machinery settings to know the optimum quality levels possible from the available setup considering the raw material being used. This then to be compared to the customer’s requirement and necessary match-making to be done Detailed understanding of the SQC laboratory to understand which instruments are available permanently for regular quality checking and verifying the results for a longer period to understand consistency levels

»	Management

	People make the difference. Understanding the philosophy of the management / owners to know their mindset and the possibilities of partnership for long-term

Acmes technical + commercial team normally visits the factory before initiating business and evaluates the factory based on its above formula to decide how to proceed further

Quality Inspection Procedure for Yarns

Planning is done at the head office in Ahmedabad for a monthly inspection schedule based on the order booking status given by marketing cell. This schedule is then passed on to the respective offices throughout India to be followed

Quality Assurance representative visits factory on the date of inspection (which is intimated to the factory in advance) . Focus is laid on Process inspection whereby the raw cotton used is evaluated; the various machinery settings are checked. After process inspection is completed the yarn under production / packed is inspected. For this below procedure is followed :

»	20 cones are drawn at random partly from the cartons and partly from the running production

»	These cones are given for testing in the mills laboratory to check all physical characteristics and this report is compared to the standard characteristics which is available with the quality assurance people. If any irregularity is seen either the same is to be improved upon or the lot will have to be rejected

»	UVR checking is done for shade variation.

»	For knitting yarn at the same time cones are also taken and put on the knitting machine and knitted fabric is prepared in both grey and dyed and is inspected for fabric appearance , contamination , shade variation , barrenness etc.

If any abnormality is found in the yarn the factory is shown the same as well as is advised what measures are to be taken to rectify the problem in further production. In this case the old lot is abandoned (to be sold in domestic market) and factory undertakes fresh production with the improvements. Buyer in such situations is intimated that the lot has been rejected and fresh production is taken and is requested hence to allow more time for shipment. If whatsoever even after our suggestion quality is not improved and is not coming upto our buyers expectations we then advise buyer of the factual situation and leave it to him to take the final decision after giving him our point of opinion

Once the inspection is done successfully a detailed “Quality Inspection Report” is sent to customer ( as per below format ) which gives information to customer on below :

»	Yarn Lot No & production date

»	Raw Cotton used with its characteristics

»	Physical parameters of the yarn tested

»	Uster and Classimate results

»	Winding report – winding machine used , yarn length , cone tip colour , packaging , whether yarn Siro cleared for contamination or not

The above report is signed by the Quality Assurance person who has conducted the inspection as well as by the concerned Marketing person and then sent to customer along with original reports attached with them by email

Quality inspection procedure for fabrics, denim, home textile & garments can be made available on customers request. At the same time Acme is open to adopt customers inspection procedures if any laid down by them.

Achievements

»	Complete machinery data , product data , factory data available with Quality Assurance cell for each factory with whom we work which can be made available readily

»	Factory presentations having live photographs of each factory showing the factory setup , machinery setup , contamination removal systems , packaging mode readily available for customers to view

»	Database made for each customer for his quality requirements against which inspections are conducted. Quality tracking for each customer also done based on same

»	Complain levels down to a level of 1.5% and targeted to get this to zero levels.

We believe that our customers must have peace of mind when the buy through us and should have 100% confidence and reliability on the supplies that they receive from our side. This is why we tell our customers that we are their eyes in India and we inspect each cargo not as if it is our customer’s cargo but as if it is our own cargo .This reliability factor of quality from customer is highly important for us to survive in the long run.
